SILVER WINES

White

Bin 101 - Colombard, La Revolution, Vin de Pays des Cotes de Gascogne. South West France

Nothing to do with Gazza, this is a refreshing lemony mouthful made from grapes that used to be used for Armagnac. Vive la Revolution!

102 - Pinot Grigio, Canaletto. Italy
A gentle, juicy example of this popular style, great by itself, but equally good with a wide variety of lighter dishes
103 - Sauvignon Blanc, Airen, Castillo de Morro. Spain

Crisp, dry white with tangy citrus notes and a mouth-watering finish.

104 - Sauvignon Blanc, Patriarche Vin de Pays d'Oc. France

You'd swear someone had squeezed a gooseberry or two into this sappy, grassy youngster. Light, lemony and refreshing.

107 - Chardonnay Trivento. Argentina

Gentle juicy Chardonnay, lovely on its own, but good with fish too.

Rose

Easy going rose packed with strawberry flavours, from a dynamic co-operative in an up and coming region to the south east of Rioja.

106 - Rosé, Cabernet Blush, CyT. Chile

Light, medium style blush wine - easy drinking with plenty of stawberry and raspberry flavours.

Red

301 - Pinot Noir, Trivento. Mendoza, Argentina

With its plummy cherry fruit and lightly smoky notes from a touch of oak maturation, this is great value Pinot.

302 - Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Canaletto. Abruzzi, Italy

A bear hug of a wine from central Italy, all damsons, plums and herbs, yet still managingto be refreshing.

303 - Shiraz, Pasquiers, Vin de Pays d'Oc. Languedoc, France

Succulent, supple red, bold but never pushy, with a wealth of berry and bramble flavours, and a spicy finish.

Bin 201 - Semillon/Chardonnay, Marktree. South Eastern Australia

Fresh, fruity, oak-free wine with the zesty edge of Semillon combining with the peachier Chardonnay to satisfying effect.

202 - Sauvignon Blanc, Casillero del Diablo. Chile
Full-flavoured yet crisp, with characters of melons, gooseberries and cut grass.
203 - Las Olas Torrontes, Argentina

Spicy young wine with ginger-tinged grape, and citrus flavours.

204 - Sauvignon Blanc, Old Well House. Western Cape, South Africa

Serious Sauvignon from a country that is currently making a huge impact with the grape. Pithy, quite full bodied and perfect for richer fish dishes.

Rose

205 - ‘R’ Rosato, Alpha Zeta. Veneto, Italy

Here’s what happens when a New Zealand winemaker is let loose on Corvina, the grape of Valpolicella. A wonderfully gluggable, cherryish pink.

206 - Shiraz Rosé, Casillero del Diablo. Maule, Chile

There’s lush berry fruit in abundance in this tangy, spicy pink.

207 - Pinot Grigio Blush, Sanvigilio. Italy

Red

401 - Pinotage Macgregor. South Africa

Soft and smoky with a savoury edge to the fleshy red fruit.

Smooth, sweet, fruity red, fresher than many Aussie reds, with a minty/eucalyptus note to its pure cassis and berry flavours.

403 - Cabernet/Malbec, Finca Los Prados. Mendoza, Argentina

Cabernet for the lush blackcurrant fruit and a bit of backbone + Malbec for fragrant berry character = delicious. Steak wine par excellence.

A relaxed, jovial wine, with lightly spicy strawberry fl avours, and a vanilla tang from the time spent in oak barrels.
